2015 Christmas Gift Guide

I know you haven’t finished (started) your holiday shopping yet, so here’s some inspiration, based on things I like to give and receive.

The Best stocking stuffers:

Nova Scotia Fisherman travel kit and Sephora sleeping masks. Both of these are inexpensive, cute, and work wonders. My husband loves the Nova Scotia Fisherman sea kelp lip balm and I swear my skin feels like a baby’s butt every time I use one of those honey sleeping masks. Buy these for your friends and buy some for yourself, too.

For the perpetually cold-yet-stylish:
Blanket scarves are so hot right now – literally, because you’re basically wearing a blanket. They are comfy and come in so many styles, and they’re perfect for your friend or co-worker who is always cold (so basically every woman you know). Urban Outfitters has some good ones.

For the music head/gym rat:
Bose SoundSport headphones: I know the cool thing these days are those giant headphones, but I still don’t get how people can use them comfortably at the gym. They’re like ear muffs, and they’re so big and heavy, how can you possibly do a burpee in those things? I digress. These bad boys fit super snug and comfy in your ears and the sound quality is, of course, amazing. If your special someone uses headphones everyday, these are totally worth the splurge.

For people who like things au naturale:
Neal’s Yard Remedies and S.W. Basics Skincare, both green and natural skincare and beauty companies that also happen to make really, really good products.

For the proud Maritimer:
The Girl from Away makes adorable shirts, sweaters, notebooks and pencils inspired by the Maritimes, and they make great gifts for any East-coaster living away or who can’t make it home for the holidays.

For the perfume snob:
If you’re big into perfume you’ve already heard of Byredo, specifically the cult-favourite Gypsy Water; I’m a huge fan of Seven Veils, myself (in case you want to buy me something?) and Bal D’Afrique. Their scents are complex, sexy, and unisex, and the packaging is gorgeous too. Byredo makes an impressive addition to any perfume snob’s collection.

For the well-dressed man in your life:
A Frank and Oak shirt. This Montreal-based clothing store has beautiful, well-fitting clothing at a frankly (see what I did there?) shocking price. My husband, who is tall and, ahem, well-built, has a tough time finding clothes that fit and he LOVES this shop.

For the skincare junkie who has everything:
Peter Thomas Roth 24K gold mask. Will the gold reverse the aging process and essentially turn you into a beautiful immortal vampire? Well, you don’t know until you try, right?

A Christian Louboutin lipstick. Apparently these lipsticks are wonderful and they come in a gorgeous decorative container that doubles as a pendant, but they’re also about $120. No one is crazy enough to buy one of these for real, are they? I guess we’ll find out at Christmas…
