Clean Machine Sponges from Sephora: verdict, awesome

For someone as obsessed with skincare products as I am, I sometimes, shamefully, have a hard time going through the motions of cleaning my face before bed. Yes, I’ve went to bed with makeup on, and yes, I’ve skipped the whole cleansing/toning/exfoliating process when I know I probably shouldn’t have. Sometimes you’re tired and the bathroom floor is cold and it won’t kill you to fall asleep with mascara on will it? I know you ladies feel me.

Still, I do think that taking care of your skin is a good idea, and that the earlier you start, the better. It doesn’t have to be an intensive process, but toning and cleaning and regular exfoliating is probably a good idea for everyone. And it’s a lot less tiresome when you use products you enjoy, and make your skincare regimen more of a fun, relaxing process than chore.

On that note, here’s a lovely product I just came across that is making my nightly routine more pleasant: Clean Machine Konjac sponges from Sephora. The sponges, which come in a pack of two, are infused with lavender and green tea and are made from natural konjac (a root) fiber for gentle exfoliation. The sponges are these hard little balls that you have to soak in warm water for a couple minutes until they expand and soften up – and you can apply your regular cleanser to your face first or just use the sponge to lightly exfoliate.

They have basically no scent themselves so they’re great for people who want a more natural product. What I love is the texture: it’s springy, not too soft and not too rough, and just feels so nice. It’s like you’re getting a spa massage on your face. It’s awesome. Go get some and you won’t want to skip your nightly face-washing again!
