Marc Jacobs is one of those brands that, in my opinion, deserves the praise. Their products are well-made and durable; I’ve had a gorgeous black leather wallet that’s been thrown around myriad purses for over four years now and still looks beautiful. They offer tchotchkes for those of us who don’t want to spend $350 on a cotton sweater; I’ve bought a few of his canvas tote bags for about $35 each as gym or beach bags and they’re also awesome. I don’t wear much of his actual clothing because I’m just not into designer clothing, but I’m always into accessories—so when Marc Jacobs introduced its beauty collection, I was pretty pumped. And not disappointed.
Case in point: Lust for Lacquer Lip Vinyl. These babies come in at $28 bucks, but the smooth, lush and relatively long-lasting colour (with just a touch of tingle) is worth it. Even better, this product comes in some interesting variations of every day lip color: I like the sparkle-free varieties like Truth Or Dare, a rich and creamy plum shade, or gypsy, a muted, oddly retro looking pumpkin shade. Treat yo’self: pick one up at Sephora. You’ll feel suitably designer-chic without the huge investment.
